Cookie Policy
Last updated: 9 December 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how Kyhala (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on kyhala.com(the “Site”).
Our studio is based in Victoria, Australia, and we currently sell to customers in the United States, but visitors may access our Site from many locations.
Where we collect personal information through cookies, we do so in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (such as your computer, tablet or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep them secure, to improve performance, and to provide information to the site owner.
Similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, and local storage) may also be used and are treated as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
2. Who places cookies on this Site?
Cookies may be set by:
First-party cookies – placed by us or our website platform (Squarespace) directly.
Third-party cookies – placed by service providers we use to run our business, such as:
Website hosting and analytics (e.g. Squarespace analytics, Google Analytics)
Payment and checkout providers (e.g. card processors, PayPal)
Marketing and social media tools (e.g. Pinterest, Meta/Facebook, email marketing platforms)
These third parties may recognise your device when you visit our Site and when you visit other websites.
3. Types of cookies we use
We group the cookies we use into the following categories:
a) Essential (Strictly Necessary) cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to function properly and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set only in response to actions you take, such as:
Navigating pages and loading content
Remembering items in your shopping cart
Processing orders and payments at checkout
Maintaining security and preventing fraud
Managing your cookie consent preferences
You can set your browser to block these cookies, but parts of the Site may then not work correctly.
b) Performance & analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our Site so we can improve it. They may:
Count visits and traffic sources
Help us see which pages are most and least popular
Track how visitors move around the Site
Identify technical issues (such as slow loading pages or errors)
We typically use these in aggregated or anonymised form (for example, through Squarespace analytics and/or Google Analytics).
If you decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, we will not load these analytics cookies (where our tools allow that control).
c) Functional cookies
Functional cookies allow the Site to remember choices you make, such as:
Your language or region (where available)
Items you viewed recently
Saved preferences (for example, whether you closed a pop-up)
These cookies help create a more personalised and convenient browsing experience.
d) Advertising & social media cookies
If enabled, these cookies may be set by our marketing partners and social media platforms. They can:
Record your visit to our Site and the pages you view
Help us show more relevant adverts or content on other websites or social media
Measure the performance of our campaigns (for example, tracking clicks from Pinterest or Instagram)
These cookies may use information about your browsing across different sites over time. If you disable advertising cookies, you may still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.
4. Cookies on our Site
Because our tools and integrations may change over time (for example, if we add or remove plugins or marketing pixels), the exact cookies used may also change.
Examples of the types of cookies that may be used on kyhala.com include:
Platform cookies from Squarespace to run the site, manage sessions, and maintain security.
Commerce cookies to operate the shopping cart, checkout, and payment flow.
Analytics cookies (for example, from Squarespace and/or Google Analytics) to measure traffic and usage patterns.
Marketing / social media cookies (for example, from Pinterest, Meta/Facebook, or email marketing tools) if we run campaigns or embed social features.
You can review or update your choices for non-essential cookies via our cookie banner (where available) or by adjusting your browser settings (see below).
5. How you can control cookies
a) Cookie banner preferences
When you first visit our Site, you may see a cookie banner or pop-up:
Accept – allows us to use essential cookies plus any non-essential cookies covered by the banner (such as analytics and/or advertising cookies).
Decline or Manage Settings – allows you to refuse non-essential cookies or choose specific categories, while still receiving essential cookies needed for the Site to work.
You can revisit your choices at any time by clearing cookies in your browser and revisiting the Site, or by using any “Cookie Settings” link we may provide in the footer.
b) Browser settings
Most web browsers allow you to:
View which cookies are set on your device
Delete cookies
Block cookies from specific sites
Block all cookies entirely
How to do this depends on your browser (for example, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Please refer to your browser’s help section for detailed instructions.
If you block all cookies, parts of the Site (such as the cart or checkout) may not function properly.
c) Opt-out tools from third parties
Some third-party providers offer their own opt-out mechanisms or settings. Examples include:
Google’s ad settings or analytics opt-out tools
Social media ad preferences on platforms such as Pinterest, Meta/Facebook, or Instagram
These tools are provided and controlled by the third parties, not by us. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
6. “Do Not Track” signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is currently no industry-wide agreement on how websites should respond to these signals, so our Site does not respond to DNT signals at this time.
You can still manage cookies using the methods described above.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we:
Add new features or services to the Site
Start using new cookies or technologies
Need to reflect changes in laws or guidance
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
8. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies, you can contact us via the details provided on our Contact page on kyhala.com.
